Trading in my Sandwich for Scallops…

My computer, a sandwich or salad and a cup of tea. That would sum up my usual lunchtime when I’m in my writing mode (which is pretty much all of the time). But today, I’ll be staying up late… to chat with you on Twitter!

So to keep my energy high, I decided to enjoy an essential part of life in Paris: lunch at a lovely restaurant! This meant swapping my writing attire (sweatpants that my toddler already told me she hates) for a skirt and heels (daughter approved) and setting off to try a new place. My husband is a personal chef so always leads us in the right direction…

On the menu? We kept it light, skipping appetizers and heading straight to the main course. Scallops with green wheat germ and Vadouvan spices. I know the idea of green wheat germ sounds kind of strange, but it really was delicious… especially if you love grains/cereals. Dessert was an airy and chewy macaroon filled with Piedmont hazelnut cream and strawberries. Yum!

The walk home through the sunshine prolonged the happiness… especially since we get so much rain in Paris!

And now my batteries are charged for tonight’s Twitter Chat! Please join me at 6 p.m.EST. We will use the hashtag #prm. If you happen to use Twubs, I set up a chatroom at http://twubs.com/prm. So prepare your questions about “Paris, Rue des Martyrs” and my writing life and let’s chat!

In the meantime, I’ll share a few lunch photos with you…

Me, ready for a gourmet lunch!

Isn't that dish cool?

A traditional macaroon... jazzed up with a delicious filling.

    1. Thanks, Vicki! It was a lot of fun... but I know that it was rather late in the evening for readers on this side of the pond!

  2. That looks great. But I am the last person in the world not on Twitter, so here's someone who won't be joining in.....
